It's tax time! I just bought our tax software (looks much like the one above) from Office Depot for the best deal I've gotten in years, so I thought I'd share. First of all, it's on sale (which I've rarely, if ever, seen) for 39.99 (the deluxe version which comes with federal, state and 1 free e-file). Then, on top of that, you get a $15 gift card to itunes, Panera or Wendy's! You have to buy the Deluxe version to get the gift card - it's also the only one on sale (basic w/just federal is reg. price), but isn't that the one that everyone needs anyway? I never understood why someone would only need to file federal taxes ... Anyway, head to your local Office Depot this week for this deal cuz I'm not sure how long it lasts. If you want/need computer software like Quicken, Norton, McAfee - check out Office Max as they usually run deals for free or half-off software with any tax software purchase.
As far as H&R Block tax software goes, we've been using it since we got married and have absolutely no complaints. It's fast, easy, has explanation links for things if you need help, and its cheaper than Turbo Tax! ;) And once you've downloaded TaxCut to your computer, the newer versions automatically get all your stored info from the past ones so you only have to enter addresses, etc if your information has changed.
Anyway, I always look forward to tax season since we usually get a pretty nice refund. Hoping that this one will pay for Lily's preschool next year, or at least most of it. Yay! :)
