Frugal Friday: Free Online Samples!

Today's Frugal Friday tip is to check blogs (like MoneySavingMom, CommonSenseWithMoney or FrugalLivingAndHavingFun) for links to sign up for free samples and free coupons! Often, when companies come out with a new product or a new version of their product - or just want to increase public interest a little? - they offer free samples (or coupons to try their product for free), mailed to your home for FREE! As a perk, these often come with bonus coupons. In the past few weeks, I've gotten free samples of ...

- Nescafe instant coffee packets
- Kashi cereal (which came with a $3 off coupon inside too!)
- microwave popcorn
- deodorant
- "female essentials"
- contact solution

In the past, I've gotten small tubes of toothpaste, floss, shampoo, conditioner, diapers, lotion, foundation, lipstick/gloss, chicken soup mix, coupons for free boxes of pasta, coupons for free coffee creamer, laundry detergent, softener ... the list goes on. Plus, who doesn't like getting packages in the mail? Even when you order them yourself, it's still exciting seeing the box by the door or sticking out of the mailbox. ;) This just has the added bonus of being FREE! :)

After you sign up, it usually takes 4-6 weeks to deliver so don't expect them right away. If you want to get free samples, but don't want to read through post after post of things you're not interested in, MoneySavingMom has a tab for "freebies and deals" which will take you right to all of her free sample posts, making it much easier.

Today, we're meeting a friend at the Botanic Gardens and using a coupon for free admission (free parking), in honor of National Public Gardens Day. I'm looking forward to it, especially with this beautiful weather!

Happy National Public Gardens Day!
